Active Braking with Intelligence (AB-i)

The Intuitive New Camry is designed with your safety in mind. That's why Active Braking with Intelligence (AB-i) is not an option, it's standard. Complete with ABS, Brake Assist (BA) and Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), AB-i helps you stop quickly and safely, under most conditions.

- Anti-skid Braking System (ABS) – ABS prevents your wheels from locking up, so you’re less likely to skid. Wheel lockup is a major cause of accidents because steering control is lost as soon as the front wheels lose their grip
- Brake Assist (BA) - BA helps you apply optimum braking force when emergency braking is performed
- Electronic Brake-Force Distribution (EBD) – EBD automatically distributes braking force to individual wheels according to distribution of weight.

Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) & Traction Control (TRC) on Grande

Thanks to Toyota's Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Traction Control (TRC), the all-new Camry Grande provides optimal traction for greater confidence in acceleration and cornering. VSC automatically compensates for under or oversteering, for smooth, safe cornering. Couple this with TRC and in the wet, dry or snow the new Camry will help get you there safely.

Occupant protection

The Toyota Camry has built its reputation on safety now we've gone even further:
- New, energy absorbing material in the door trims, side pillars and roof line to reduce side impact.
- WIL (Whiplash-Injury Lessening) front seats, to reduce the chance of neck injury in a rear-end collision.
- Dual front SRS airbags standard

- Front-seat side airbags and full length curtain-shield airbags are standard on Camry Ateva, Sportivo and Grande and optional on Altise.
- Height adjustable front seatbelt and three-point seatbelts in all three rear-seat seating position
- Pre-tensioner and force-limiter seatbelts to reduce injury in a front-on collision.

Of course, it's all encased in Toyota's Safe-T-Cell energy absorbing structure which helps direct impact away from the cabin, providing occupants with increased protection.

Advanced pedestrian safety

Not only designed with passenger safety in mind, the new
Camry even reduces the chance of injury to those outside the car! The new impact-absorbing front fender supports and a redesigned bonnet support frame work together to reduce pedestrian head and torso trauma in the unfortunate event o
f a pedestrian collision.

Athletic and modern, the new Camry is now sportier than ever. It sits low and wide for a more dynamic performance and greater stability. And with strong, horizontal lines and sharp features, it's a styling masterpiece that looks fast, even when it's standing still.

F1-Inspired aerodynamics

The new Camry's underbody aerodynamic features are inspired by Toyota's Formula One experience. Its breakthrough stepped engine undercover, maximises downforce on the driven wheels and fairings for the rear wheels ensure smooth airflow away from the rotating tyres. Sportivo also includes a rear floor undercover and a rear fuel tank undercover, for even more downforce to the rear.

Auto-on projector-type headlamps

Bold and purposeful, Camry's new 'crystalline' headlights represent far more than a mere aesthetic improvement. Light sensors automatically switch the headlights on when visibility becomes poor, and, thanks to new projector-type lenses, Camry's low-beam headlamps provide significantly greater light penetration, increasing forward visibility by up to 10m and side-to-side visibility by up to 4m.

Sportivo aero kit

You'd expect a leaner, meaner look from the Sportivo - and the new Camry certainly delivers. Its slick new exterior design, combined with an exciting aero kit (front spoiler, rear skirts, side skirts & rear lip spoiler) gives the Sportivo a distinctive sporty appeal. And with its unique six-spoke, 17-inch alloy wheels, stylish honeycomb radiator design, tinted sports headlamps and rear lamps, unique badging and front door scuff plates, the Sportivo is every inch the sports option to own.

Powerful 2.4-litre VVT-i Engine

Experience the Euro IV compliant all-alloy 2.4-litre VVT-i, four-cylinder engine. It's the fuel economy you've always loved in the Camry, but now with improved performance. In fact, it's the most powerful Camry yet, thanks to lightning-fast response of the electronic throttle, more efficient fuel injectors, a variable back-pressure muffler, upgraded engine management software and revised cam profiles.

New 5 Speed Auto

For the first time, Camry's 2.4-litre engine can be matched to an electronically controlled Intelligent five-speed automatic transmission with sporty gated shift. Of course on the Sportivo and Altise, you can still opt for the 5 speed manual if you're partial to the 'hands-on' experience... The choice is yours

Intelligent Electronically Controlled Transmission (ECT)

Toyota's 5 speed Manual or 4 speed Automatic Electronic Controlled Transmission (ECT) make the Camry a force to be reckoned with, ensuring precisely timed gear changes and incredibly responsive acceleration. What's more, the high efficiency lock-up torque converter translates into outstanding fuel economy.

Chassis & Suspension

The new Camry delivers an all-new chassis package that you'll really notice. Designed for high levels of safety, ride, handling and low noise, the new chassis has increased body rigidity and lowered the centre of gravity, presenting a larger footprint on the road than ever before. Camry's suspension has also been substantially improved. In addition to standard anti-vibration subframes front and rear, the new Camry also boasts a range of advanced suspension features, including new multi-leaf type linear control valves in the dampers and a newly developed rebound spring in the Sportivo rear shock absorbers. The end result? Ultimate body control and road holding for improved ride comfort, flatter ride posture and fast response to driving manoeuvres.
